Victorian Black Glass Bead Appliques
A Rare Set of 7 Antique, Victorian Appliques
Gorgeous set of 7 cut black glass beads sewn to a hand stitched silk cording structure. There are right and left facing embellishments, 4 right and 3 left. These would date to 1870-1900.
Could be used for formal black evening wear or on a later stage mourning costume (shiny was considered tacky in early mourning). Measure 3" across by 4.5" long. There are some loose beads and stray threads, however in sound usable condition.
